Hello, my friends! Needless to say, this will be the loneliest Labor Day Weekend for me over the last 18 years. This would have been the 19th Annual National Buffalo Wing Festival. I think that you will agree that the Wingfest is more than a food festival. It is a social gathering for friends and families from all over the country, and a chance to show our love and respect for the commitment that chicken wing eateries have made to provide us all year with our beloved, iconic... food. Let’s take this weekend to reflect on the great memories from the Wingfest over the years. We also recognize that there are larger issues in life that need our attention. COVID-19 has changed our lifestyles and taken too many lives as well as created financial hardship for many Americans. Safety was our number one issue when deciding on the fate of the festival this year. Let’s stay safe this Holiday Weekend and count our blessings. Stay well my friends and get ready for Wingfest 2021. Next year we will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary, so let’s get ready for one hell of a great party. This weekend, please pay homage to our chicken wing restaurants across the country and order up some of your favorite wings.... and do a toast to all of our Wingfest family. Cheers, my friends! - Wing King Drew Cerza, Founder of the National Buffalo Wing Festival

This past Labor Day, The Telegraph's own Andy Lynes made the 19-hour trek from London to Buffalo to celebrate all things wings! Learn more about his epic trip below, including a stop at Anchor Bar plus a judging stint at the National Buffalo Wing Festival. "I couldn’t match professional wing eater Geoffrey Esper, who set a new world record of 281 wings in 12 minutes but after judging 20 types of wing in the creative category, I felt I’d certainly had my fill."
