This post is hilarious! It seems to be from New Zealand! Hello all!
Hi, there's a new Garden Forum group that we've just started here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/521167392158391/ Please join us for information and discussion about gardening!
News from BLISS: Dear Gardeners, I am plotting out the garden for the coming season and need to absolutely know who will be returning. We have 3 new people wanting plots and I need to know if you will be giving up your plot. I think I asked this before but I got an incomplete response so I beg your patience here. I know that Chris is not keeping her plot, otherwise I only know of a few positives, and can assume a few more. What thinks you on this almost last day of Januar...y? Do you want a corn plot this year? Would you please go to the website (cambridgeny.net/garden) and fill out a registration form and send me your check, made out to Hubbard Hall. Please please do it now so I am not chasing people around in gardening season. That is the best way of insuring that you get your plot back this spring. If you want to find me in person, I am working at the food coop on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month from 2:15 to 6. Also...Sue VanHook has offered to give a presentation to community garden members on her soil sponge research . We thought that it would be good to make it a garden get-together with a pot luck supper and a bit of a general meeting as well. The date we have chosen is Sunday March 15th at 6 pm in the Beacon Feed Studio. Other dates: Hubbard Hall perennials sale on April 25th Spring work days: Saturday May 2nd and Sunday May 24th, both 9 to noon. Please try to come to one of them at least.
Good sunny morning! Hope is surely springing eternal in most, if not all, of us! Thoughts are turning to soil and seedlings and sunny days. So here are a couple of things to think about: who knows a dowser who lives close by? That’s someone who holds a forked item in her/his hands and walks around property, awaiting its bending toward the earth. That’s toward water below, just what we need for our permanent irrigation system in the Community Garden. The other thing we need is... someone who can help us connect a solar panel to a pump, enabling us to move that very same water where it is needed for our crops and for our permanent berry beds and fruit tree stock. Anyone? Thanks!
Hello, everyone - just a quick word - we are amping up our efforts to get an irrigation system installed in the Garden! It seems feasible and will make a signifiant difference in the sustainability of the Garden as a whole and our individual plots as well! Stay tuned! PS - any dowsers out there???
