How important is insulation in the summer? It’s just as important as in the winter. Seen here is a thermal image of a bedroom in a cape style home. The dark area to the right at 59 degrees is a window air conditioner that has been running for hours. Notice the wall and ceiling which are poorly insulated and still over 80 degrees. Think about how hard the air conditioner is working and the amount of electricity being used trying to keep just that room a comfortable temperature. Proper insulation helps keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
