Our next Car Seat Safety and Installation Event is scheduled for Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. As usual the event will be held at NYP Hudson Valley Hospital in the Pataki Center. Peekskill Police Officers and Magnet OB Nurses will assist you in installing a new seat or checking the safety of one already installed. Please see attached flyer for details. Officer Pam and Officer Woodland our car seat safety technicians will tell you they see a lot of ca...r seats installed incorrectly, and very few done right. In fact an overwhelming majority of car seats are mis-intalled. That means most of us are driving around town with seats that could be more dangerous than not using one at all. Some common mistakes are; -Routing seatbelts incorrectly -Not putting seatbelts in lock mode -Using both the lower anchors of the LATCH system and the seatbelt -Connecting the lower anchors and tethers of the LATCH system to the wrong points in the car, especially cargo hooks -Forgetting to use the tether at all -Not putting enough weight on the seat as it is being installed Please share this information. #carseatsafety #communitypolicing #NVPHudsonValleyHosptal #PeekskillPolice

We'd like to extend a very special heartfelt Thank You to Tanya Pascual and Bianca Zeng of Kay Jewelers for stopping in to spread holiday cheer and donate stuffed animals to go towards the Salvation Army Angel Tree. As you may know the Peekskill PBA is actively participating in the Angel Tree Program and will be donating toys to children in the community. Thank you ladies for your kind generosity!

We are extremely proud to announce the participation of the Peekskill PBA in this years Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program is an opportunity to spread joy to struggling families during the holidays. The PBA has acquired 50 Angel Tree tags from the Salvation Army and each tag represents a child that is in need of a gift for Christmas. "Once the gifts are purchased we will be able to have an area set up within the Salvation Army dedicated to the Peekskill PBA and the gifts purchased for the children. 2020 was a very trying year and this is a great way to continue to give back to the community during tough times by making sure these children have something under the tree this year." -Sgt.Kruithof Peekskill PBA President
