Thanks for nominating us as one of the "most missed entertainment venues during COVID-19"! Believe us, we miss you all too. After you've voted in your important local election, bookmark November 8th to come back and vote for us to win this category. (To see who's on your ballot in the way more important election, check out https://www.vote411.org/!)
We can't wait for this! This month's 3 x 10 Virtual Play Festival is on Thursday at 8PM. Check out the premiere of "Zoom News" by our friend J. Brazill! Huge thank you to Garrett for using this month's installment to help raise funds for our ongoing moving adventure. We're humbled to be part of this caring, resilient arts community in Central New York.
Don't miss your chance to own a "theatre in a mall" shirt! These shirts will be discontinued from our store at the end of November, so put your orders in now. These make great holiday gifts :) https://www.bonfire.com/store/cny-playhouse/
HUGE thank you to our friends at Landmark Theatre for providing us with storage space until we find a new home. It’s a weird and hard time to run a theatre but we are glad to be part of this community!!
These shirts are only available for a limited time before they’ll be discontinued! Get yours now at www.cnyplayhouse.org/store
Though 2020 seems never-ending, there was allegedly a time in recent memory when we gathered to do shows. BroadwayWorld is now accepting nominations for "best of the decade" of Central New York theatre so if you think anything we've done in the past 8 years has been awesome head over to nominate us! https://www.broadwayworld.com/central-n/votenominations.cfm
Anyone want this children’s school desk? You must pickup - we can arrange a time in the evenings most weekdays when someone will be here
We are looking for plastic totes to pack our props/costumes. If you have any you'd like to donate, please email us at [email protected] and we'll make arrangements with you!
We'll be discontinuing our "theatre in a mall" shirts, so be sure to get yours while you can. (If you already have one, post a picture in the comments!) https://www.bonfire.com/theatre-in-a-mall-1/
Thanks for your continuous support, WWNY!
WOW. Thank you. The last 24 hours have been a whirlwind of support and ideas and solutions from a huge community of our friends. We are all so grateful to have you in our corner. If you’ve reached out to us with questions or to offer help, please be patient with us as we work through exactly what the next few weeks are going to look like. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
Dear CNYP Family, No one imagined when we closed temporarily in March that the 2020 season would have turned out this way. We have missed seeing our actors, production teams, and audiences so much over the past six months. Today, we have sad news to share with you.... Shoppingtown Mall has asked its tenants to vacate their spaces in the next 30 Days. After almost 8 years, CNY Playhouse will no longer be the theatre in a mall. This does NOT mean CNYP is closing permanently. We are moving to a storage facility while we plan for whatever the next chapter looks like. We don’t know where or when that chapter will start but we will keep you posted as we regroup and reimagine our future. In the next 30 days our board will be hard at work organizing, packing, cleaning, and moving. We’ll need to rent trucks, dumpsters, and rent our storage space. If you would like to help cover moving expenses, you can donate here: https://pages.donately.com/cnypla/campaign/cmp_8881c51dc876 We wish that we all could’ve had the opportunity to say a proper goodbye to the space that has become a creative home and a community gathering space for hundreds of artists and thousands of audience members since we opened in 2012. We’re grateful for the time we’ve had at Shoppingtown, the art we’ve created together and the friendships we found there. We hope you’ll stick with us through this transition and that we’ll see you when it’s safe to gather again. We’d love to talk with you more and answer your questions. Please feel free to email [email protected] to reach the Governing Board but know that we have a lot of moving to do and we appreciate your patience if it takes us longer than usual to respond to you! With love and gratitude, Abel Searor Keith Arlington Kate Crawford Elizabeth Allers Patricia Catchouny Dan Randall & The Production Board of CNYP
