This Sunday, September 6, the Riverdale Y Sunday Market will host a special event for children for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Children and their parents/caregivers are invited to join an art project and storytime. This drop-in session will start at 10:30am and continue until 12pm, with storytime at about 11am. As we mark the new year and new beginnings, we will celebrate Hope, Peace and Love, and create a gift for the Sunday Market together - a gift of this season of renewal and rebuilding. In addition, each family will get a special apple and honey to take home for a sweet new year! This event is co-sponsored by PJ Library and Congregation Tehillah. The Riverdale Y Sunday Market is located at 4545 Independence Avenue in the Riverdale Temple parking lot (near 246th Street).

Join us whenever you can throughout the month of Elul as we prepare together for the High Holy Days and the year ahead with study sessions and learning opportunities. Shabbat morning services resume this week and our first Elul study session will be this Tuesday from 2 to 3pm, when we will explore what it means to create a sacred space in your home and how each of us can approach this unique challenge.

When this anti-Semitic graffiti showed up on my doorstep, I found I could trust and depend on not only my Jewish sisters, but also my Muslim ones. https://www.jta.org//im-jewish-shes-muslim-we-took-down-an
