A cold front passing through the area will push rain showers out by mid to late morning. A secondary arctic cold front will move across the area this afternoon... and into the evening, bringing scattered snow squalls just behind the front, strong to damaging wind gusts from late afternoon through Tuesday morning, and cold temperatures with dangerous wind chills tonight and Tuesday. We have issued detailed a Briefing for this event. Please visit https://www.weather.gov/bgm/briefingMain and click on the book to open the PDF. See more

Cornell will rename East Avenue, which runs through the heart of the Ithaca campus, as Feeney Way, in honor of the university’s most generous donor. Chuck Feene...y ’56 has given nearly $1 billion to Cornell in his lifetime, mostly anonymously. University leaders hope the tribute, formally planned to occur in spring 2021, will inspire other Cornellians to follow in his path.

Fun #Cornell Trivia - Libe Slope is simply short for Library Slope. The abbreviated version appears in The Cornell Daily Sun as early as 1926 (in a joke about the need for a fence on the Slope to shield against the wind). Cornell’s first dedicated library building opened at the top of the Slope in 1891.
