TEMPIS FUGIT! Yes time flies. We are on this earth for such a limited amount of time. Tomorrow marks one year to the day my mother passed from this earth to ...a better place - Tempus fugit. She is in a much happier place those of us left behind struggle for happiness. One year and yet I am still processing her passing. I still want to pick up the phone and call and talk to my mother and my father and tell them what a crazy day I had. Tell them about the concert I went to, the restaurant I went to, the idiot on the subway, the business meeting I attended, I want to hear my mother tell me I did xxx wrong, I was being "arrogant" which was a phrase of hers and then I want her to pass me over to my father. Well one year later - it is not going to happen. Tempus fugit. But all I have learned during a very hard 2017 is - Tempus fugit ! I am so blessed with two brothers and one sister, I am so blessed with two sister-in-laws and an amazing brother-in-law. I am blessed with 4 nieces and 4 nephews, and I am blessed being friends with so many and with the friends of my father and mother. Friends who miss my mom and dad as much as I do. I am so appreciative of my parents friends who remind me what long term friendship is truly about. My dad had a very special best friend and neighbor for 70 years - how many can say something like that in 2018. And then my Mom and his wife became friends for decades - isn't that what life is all about. Someone who takes your call at 1 AM, someone who cares, and someone who loves you warts and all. I can be a pain in the butt - not a question. I can be difficult but my siblings and their spouses and my nieces and my nephews never ever give up on me. I love them and they love me why - Tempus fugit! If I can offer any advice to anyone - here it is - Tempus fugit - tell those you love - you love them and then tell them why. Tell them they are the best thing that ever happened to you and you would never be the person you are today without them- -. Forgive those who you have issues with - why? Tempus fugit. Remember the Golden Rule - Love Your Neighbor as Yourself - and then when you remember the Golden Rule - remember Tempus fugit - you only have a very short time to forgive, forget and love. Tempus fugit - we are on this earth for a short period of time - if we live to 100 - it is but a flash in cosmos. Bury the hatchet, forgive and forget, tell someone why you love them, tell them - yes they annoy the hell out of you beyond belief - but you would never have it another way. Remember why you love and cherish a friendship - why you cherish a relative, a friend, or family member. Remember they could be gone tomorrow and you never had closure - I did - my parents knew I loved them every day. And when we ended every call we told one another "I LOVE YOU" - see you soon. I can still say I love you but I hope not to say see you soon!!! What I always find amazing is in our current society we can always replace something - but Tempis fugit we can never replace another human being. Tell that human being why they are so important before it is too late. It will mean the world to you, but in reality - it will mean even more to someone who needs to hear from you. TEMPIS FUGIT and Peace in Our Lifetimes!!!! If we could just remember our love for one another this entire world would be a better and happier place.
