Ezekiel 47:9 Wherever the river goes, every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish, once these waters reach there. It will become fresh; and everything will live where the river goes.

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13 NRSV You may spend a lot of time thinking about God’s plans for you. It may be easy to have an "It's all about me" attitude. ... God cares about every detail in our lives. In Luke 12:7 Jesus said "even the hairs of your head are all counted." Should we be expecting that God’s plans is to make us happy right here, right now? Jeremiah’s message is different. Jeremiah wrote to a group of people held captive; ripped from their homes and now live in exile. He was reminding them that although they’re not where they expected, God has not forgotten them. Even amidst this difficult situation, God’s plan will stand. God hasn’t forgotten them. God wants them to know his plans are not just to benefit them personally and that He is not removing them from the situation immediately. He does promise to restore them; but it’s not coming quickly. Instead, it’s 70 years later, when many of them will have passed. God is letting them know they can move forward, because in the eternal picture, God’s justice will prevail and everything will be made right. Today, during tough situations, God wants us to know he has a plan and purpose. He also wants us to know that as we submit to his plan, he will use us to bless the world. The key remains during both good and difficult times: You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.

JOINT STATEMENT OF CONSISTORY OF DEERPARK REFORMED CHURCH AND CLASSIS OF ORANGE "Sadly, an article in the Tri-State Gazette claimed that Deerpark Reformed Church (DRC) was "bankrupt." While not only is this claim untrue, there is also no concept of bankruptcy in our church order. In addition, the reporter for the newspaper never contacted the church for comment. These facts were brought to the attention of the editor. While this article is over a month-old, it is apparent th...ere is a need to correct the record and state that clearly the Consistory (Elders and Deacons) of the DRC, together with the congregation, continues ministry and is current on its denominational assessments to the Reformed Church in America (RCA), as well as its consistorial responsibility in maintaining the buildings and grounds in its care, which are owned by the Classis of Orange, the regional assembly of the RCA. The Elders continue to offer prayer and home Communion to congregation members. In addition, accommodations for public worship are offered and utilized by the congregation. In addition, DRC actively supports the Tri-State Interfaith Council as a ministry to further the Council's mission to house and feed the area homeless during the winter months through the warming station. DRC also is active in a variety of other areas of ministry. We continue to pray and discern where God is leading us in mission as we always have, and we are committed to maintaining a long-term presence for the ministry of Jesus Christ in the Port Jervis community for years to come. God has provided for us in abundance since 1737. We invite you to join in praying for God's wisdom to continue to guide us. Jesus is Lord. May God provide you peace, health, and safety during these pandemic days." -Pastor Michael Sweeney, President of Classis of Orange, on behalf of the Classis of Orange -Elder JP Sybrandy, VP Consistory of DRC, on behalf of the Consistory of DRC

We were blessed to support the founding of the Tri-State Interfaith Council as an extension of the ongoing ministry of DRC in 2016 and pray that God continue to provide God’s blessings upon this ministry for many years to come.
