Big News! 1 year ago, things were put to a stop. Life seemed to be put on hold, however, we kept going...we never stopped! DK Dance Studio adapted and quickly transitioned to Zoom, a format that was quite unfamiliar at that time and more often referred to in verb form as something that moves fast. We are certainly quite familiar with Zoom now and fortunate to have that as a platform for connection and continued dance education for those who need to use this option. We stay ...connected, continue learning and continue dancing! In the past 12 months, we have learned how to live through a pandemic that has impacted our entire world. We have adapted to many guidelines and changes that have affected our children, our elders, our loved ones, our friends, our neighbors, our businesses and ourselves. We have witnessed controversy and division, but we have also witnessed kindess and unity. On June 11&12, I am so proud to announce that we will celebrate with pride and unity, the dancers and community at DK Dance Studio. We got through this year, together. We will unite together to celebrate these hard working dancers, passionate and dedicated staff, and supportive families who show up, take class, work hard, continue to learn and grow, support each other and enjoy moments together. Whether you are coming through the doors at DK Dance Studio, or logging into Zoom for virtual dance class, we are grateful that we get to celebrate life through dance and continue to grow and make memories together.... United We Dance! We are so excited for this event and cannot wait for everyone to be a part of it! Let's do this!!!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT ~Leyla Johnson~ "Hi!! My name is Leyla and I have been dancing since I was very little! I work at Coldstone Creamery here in Webster so I love icecream! During the lockdown I started a little mask business and have enjoyed seeing all kinds of masks! I’m not sure where I want to go to college yet but I know I want to study early childhood education! I had so much fun assisting with the mini dancers last year and love to watch everyone dance! DK dance s...tudio has given me some amazing new friends I never would have had without it! I absolutely love going to class to do what I love and see the people who make me so happy. I hope you never give up your passion and keep dancing! SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -CLASS OF 2021 ~Jordan Talbot~ "Hi I’m Jordan! I’ve been dancing at DK Dance for 4 years now. I started out dancing as a shy little freshman, and it’s helped me to become the (mostly) confident young woman that I am today. I’ve learned so many great lessons, and have met so many amazing people at the studio. Even on my lowest days coming to the studio always makes me feel better. Currently I work at Wegmans in the sub shop, and I sell artwork and stick...ers on my Etsy. After graduation I plan on going to school for nursing. My plan is to become a nurse anesthetist down the road. Hopefully I can still take some art classes during college too :) My advice to all of the dancers at the studio is to just keep dancing. Always bring all of your amazing energy to class. Through dance you’ll learn to truly be yourself, and the DK dance fam will always be there to support you :) I cannot begin to explain what it’s meant to me to be able to dance here, and it’s going to be a very sad goodbye. Senior Spotlight - Class of 2021 ~Grace Ockrin~ "Hi i'm Grace! I've been dancing at DK for about 10 years now, and I've loved every minute of it! I work at the Atlantic Family Restaurant where I'm a server, but I'm planning on finding a new job depending on where I end up for college. I'm going into a pre-med program to hopefully become a surgeon. I want to specialize in reconstructive plastic surgery, which means I would aid victims of profound accidents and give them... a chance at a more normal life. For example, this might mean performing a skin graft for a burn victim. My advice for the younger dancers at DK would be to not be afraid of change. It can bring forth amazing things in your life and help you to grow as a person. I had to learn this lesson the hard way; I was deferred from my top college, Duke University, which shifted the entire future I had planned for myself. However, no matter where I end up at college, I will meet amazing people and have amazing experiences that I'll forever be impacted by. DK Dance Studio has taught me so much, and I'm going to miss everyone there TONS." DK Dance at the 2020 Webster Holiday Parade Of Lights ! This was fun (and cold!)... loved seeing many familiar faces and Spreading some Christmas Cheer! All of the businesses and First Responder set up were great! Love being a part of the community!
