For tomorrow’s CBS Sunday Morning, we packed a lot of information into 2 and a half minutes about aerosols (droplets in the air), Covid-19, and why wearing a face mask is so important. Many thanks to aerosol expert Professor Kim Prather for helping us get the science right! UC San Diego https://cbsn.ws/2DuNGVT

On June 4th, 2020, I interviewed Joseph Allen (MPH, D.Sc.) of Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He believes "we can save lives and the economy" if we understand science-based strategies to decrease infection from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19. He says we are in a "sick building era", and we need to address issues like ways to improve ventilation in order to create "healthy buildings." Joseph Allen is a consultant for ViacomCBS, to assess building safety and health. @joseph.allen.378 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56DizfAJ-vs

Here's our 60 Minutes piece on the gut microbiome and probiotics. We started working on it almost two years ago, and I'm very grateful to Dr. Jeff Gordon, Dr. Patricia Hibberd, Dr. Dan Merenstein, Professors Eran Elinav and Eran Segal, and Dr. Frank Greer for their invaluable contribution. Such a fascinating field of research, with huge potential, and I look forward to seeing exciting developments in the future. Howard L. Rosenberg Julie L. Tonight on 60 Minutes. >99% of the genes in our bodies belong to microbes in our guts, & they affect us in powerful ways. Before the pandemic, we spoke with leading researchers about the #microbiome & probiotics (should we take them?). I was surprised to learn some infant formulas contain #probiotics.
