Anxiety treatment: After hitting rock bottom with his anxiety, Professor Steve Hayes found a way forward. And this is how he started developing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

To all my NYC friends and colleagues, If you want to connect more authentically with yourself and with others, and to create a more meaningful and vital life, please consider attending this "NYC-ACL meet-up Group ACL groups are based on the psychological science of: Awareness, Courage and Love (ACL), a method developed and researched at the University of Washington. Led by NYS licensed psychologists (Mark Sisti, PhD, Julian Manetti-Cusa, PsyD & Rob Handelman, PsyD,) we will ...engage in practices meant to cultivate: heighten self/other awareness, develop courage & deepen love (ACL): e.g., mindfulness, open-hearted presence; courageous action & self-expression; deep listening, acceptance and compassion; self-care; embracing vulnerability; giving and receiving support; and living more boldly. After each meeting, you will leave with exercises and tools that you can try with 2-3 people or more (family, friends, co-workers, intimate partners) to deepen your relationships and to move towards what you value most in life. This courage, genuineness, love and awareness has the power to transform your life and relationships...we know, it has for us. ACL meet-up groups exist in several countries throughout the world, currently 27 chapters total - from Brazil, to Australia, to Europe. ACL groups subscribe to the "common humanity principle", i.e. We are all in the same boat and are all familiar with suffering, therefore, ACL groups are attended by a full range of members; from therapy clients, to therapists, friends colleagues and neighbors. Our next meeting will be Friday February 3rd at 6pm. This will be our second meeting, however, all are welcome, whether you have attended our first meeting or not. As an open meeting, new faces and old will be coming and going for us to get to know. https://www.meetup.com/Live-with-Awareness-Courage-Love-//
