Today marks the 50th Anniversary of our Junior Fire Company. Our junior firefighters are the future of our fire company with many of our current members being previous junior firefighters. Did you know that 3 out of the 4 current chiefs were junior firefighter's themselves? We are always looking for new junior firefighters. We offer an excellent program for those who are between the ages of 12-16, inclusive. In addition to learning basic firefighting techniques, these Junior Firefighters are taught CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) and Basic First-Aid. Junior Firefighters are allowed to Join the Fire Company as regular firefighters at the age of 17 after completing at least 6 months of rigorous training as a Junior Firefighter. Santa's still coming to town at 9 AM today! As a reminder we have to make the following changes due to COVID-19: Our volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves while handing out individually wrapped candy canes. Santa will remain on our fire apparatus for his safety and will be unable to take pictures.... We ask that if you are standing out in the street to please follow all CDC guidelines. This includes wearing a mask that covers your nose and mouth completely. NO MASK = NO CANDY CANE! If you feel sick or have tested positive for COVID-19, please wave from inside your house, we will leave the candy canes outside your door.
