We're working hard to keep our students healthy! The Boys JV soccer team traveled to Greece Odyssey for a thriller of a game in the rain last night. The game saw over 20 shots on goal by each team and over a dozen saves by each keeper. In the end, despite extreme action the game finished in a 1-1 tie. Their next game is tomorrow (Wednesday) at McQuaid High School (1800 S Clinton Ave, Rochester, NY 14618) at 4PM.

We're proud to be one of the longest-running charters schools in the area offering a Spanish language program. Students are encouraged to graduate with the seal of biliteracy and learning a second language doesn't just make you more employable research shows it can also keep your brain healthier long-term! Help us congratulate our September students of the month! All of these students have shown consistency, grit and determination to overcome the transitioning and learning curve of virtual learning. These students have all shown maturity in each of their respective grade levels and were role models for their classmates during the month of September.

Meet another one of our alumni! Jamilah Barker began with EMHCS in 2000: "My favorite memory about EMHCS is how tight-knit the school was. The smaller environment and class size allowed for more personal relationships with both teachers and administrators. I vividly remember feeling like they knew me and it made a substantial difference in my learning. I currently work as a T-mobile Sales Rep, helping customers in both English and Spanish and I also make digital invitations a...s a side hustle to supplement my income. When my Spanish speaking customers ask where I learned Spanish so well, I speak extremely highly of EMHCS. I always reiterate the safe and invested environment the school provides for its students. Not only that, but the dedication they have to preserving and sharing hispanic culture with its students." Barker also continues to use her platform to raise awareness about systemic injustice! Alumni, want to tell your story? Just DM us!
