We will be doing physically distanced blessing of the animals this Sunday between 8:00 to 8:50 am and 11:30 am to 1:00 pm! We’ll be on the church steps on East 74th Street, between York and First. All creatures great and small welcome! Friends of all faiths and no faith welcome, too!

Today's Online Service of Morning Prayer was Larry J. Long's last Sunday as organist and choirmaster. The service contained special music, including the world premiere of a new Choral/Anthem composed by Larry Long. We will miss you, Larry!

Next Sunday will be Larry's last Sunday at Epiphany - all are invited to join us for 10:30 am Online Morning Prayer with special music, followed by a special tribute to Larry for his almost 12 years of ministry and service. Details will be sent by email this week and posted here. -- ORGANIST & CHOIRMASTER RESIGNS I gave notice on July 24 of my resignation from the Church of the Epiphany as Organist ...and Choirmaster. My last Sunday service will be Sunday, August 16, 2020. We are in the midst of a pandemic which by all indications will continue for a very significant period of time. It is unclear to me when we will be able to meet together again to sing. I fear it will be a long time, as much as that disappoints and saddens all of us. Having turned 65 last year, I feel it is necessary for me to move on. From my first service on Ash Wednesday, February 25, 2009, my work has been extremely enjoyable, productive, and full of creativity with collegial rectors. I have loved ministering to the wonderful people at Epiphany in every way possible. The congregation and choirs have grown and flourished. I am very grateful for having had the opportunity and ability to serve this parish. Epiphany has had many, wonderful musical experiences over my 11+ years: the annual Advent Festival of Lessons and Carols joint services with St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on All Saints Sunday singing Requiems by Maurice Duruflé and Gabriel Fauré, and the Tenebrae service in Lent our own All Saints Sunday service singing the Fauré Requiem with orchestra for years, and this past year’s Alfred Desenclos Requiem several Bach cantatas with orchestra Easter Sunday services with brass and timpani, and the Handel’s Hallelujah chorus with members of the congregation the contemplative and beautiful monthly Choral Evensong services I initiated, especially the two presented for the diocesan Global Women’s Fund, with many U.N. representatives from around the world in attendance, and the new music commissions for those services first performances of many new choral works Epiphany Arts concerts of many styles of music I have enjoyed immensely working with all the children and being a part of their lives. I have learned so much from them, as I hope they have learned from me. I’m hoping we will be able to have a party for everyone to celebrate our time together once it is safe to do so. I plan to stay in touch about that. I will continue to pray for you all and for the Church of the Epiphany as you move into your new building next year. Best wishes, Larry J. Church of the Epiphany's 2020 Virtual Vacation Bible School: Knights of the North Castle! Registration starts TODAY, July 27th and ends on Sunday, August 16th. Due to Covid-19, we cannot have Vacation Bible School in-person, but instead will be a hybrid of crafts and lessons for children and families to do at home, along with Lessons and Gathering Times by Zoom, to be held Monday-Friday, August 24-28 between 10 am and 12 pm.... A Camper Care Package will be sent in advance to each Camper with all the materials they will need to complete the crafts and lessons ahead of time. Please make sure your mailing address is correct! You can pay your fee of $50/child two different ways. Visit the homepage of EpiphanyNYC.org and choose the green "Give" button at the right side of the page. When you enter your payment, please choose "Vacation Bible School" from the drop down menu. Or, you can pay by check sent to the Church at 1393 York Avenue at East 74th Street.
