Some residents from Randall Terrace in the Village of Hamburg and the surrounding neighborhood recently held a safe and socially distant parade to commemorate St. Patrick's Day. Participants safely marched around the block and toasted Saint Patrick by making a donation to #feedhamburg. A total of 50 boxes of Lucky Charms were collected and recently dropped off to volunteers who help distribute food, personal hygiene items, paper produces and home care items to local residents... in need. Children led the parade march to help promote the theme of family and togetherness. Members of the "Class Ladies Association" and their fan club pose with some of the boxes of Lucky Charms because their Magically Delicious!. The organizers of the parade hope to make it an annual event, with an early goal being set of collecting 100 boxes of Lucky Charms in 2022 to once again be donated to #feedhamburg. THANK YOU! We are so LUCKY!! #feedhamburg #neighborshelpingneighbors #hamburgthetownthatfriendshipbuilt #thecityofgoodneighbors #townofhamburgrecreationdept #compassionhopecommunity #randallterraceneighborhoodparade2021

THANK YOU to the Hamburg Community! Your support of #feedhamburg has surpassed expectations! In a year filled with unprecedented levels of uncertainty and anxiety, #feedhamburg experienced an outpouring of love, compassion, and generosity, proving once again that our community truly is the town that friendship built. #feedhamburg started as a grassroots movement to help families experiencing food insecurity during the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic. One year later, we are f...orever thankful to the members of The Old Time Baptist Church who first opened their doors and offered #feedhamburg space to set up shop and build a home base. We are equally grateful to the Town of Hamburg Department of Youth, Recreation, and Senior Services, who took #feedhamburg under its wings and provided a new location for #feedhamburg to continue our service to the community since August 2020. Our sincere gratitude also extends to the overwhelming support from local community groups, restaurants, and businesses who rallied together with material, food, and monetary donations to help #feedhamburg clients. Your commitment to your community has been paramount, and we so look forward to returning the favor as pandemic restrictions shift in the coming year. And our volunteers - we are SO thankful for our volunteers. They are the food sorters, packers, and delivery people; the organizers, the shoppers, the grant writers, the phone operators, the treasurers, the artists, the friendly faces, and the kind ears there to listen when so many of us needed it. They have all gone above and beyond to help their neighbors in need, and none of our work would have been possible without them. Lastly, our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the people of Hamburg, NY -- the community members who have continuously checked in on what #feedhamburg’s needs are, made donations, referred people in need, and supported our food drives. Our community's continued encouragement and support are what allowed #feedhamburg to feed 774 Households and 162 special holiday meals this past year, and what will help us keep even more families fed (and more hearts full) in the months to come. Life really does take a village, and we're so happy this is ours. With our utmost appreciation, #feedhamburg Board
