Tomorrow will be the 15th anniversary of Auburn Public Theater’s residency at 8 Exchange Street. Writing a post about it was not our original plan for celebrati...ng such a milestone. Our original plan involved, of course, doing something together (in person) with anyone and everyone who felt like being there. There would have been live music, of course, and food, too. And there may have even been an original poem from Lance. I am still every bit as grateful for the past fifteen years, for the opportunity to take almost five hundred young people (so far!) to NYC to see a show on Broadway, for all the music concerts and plays and shows and readings and classes, for fifteen years of gathering with all of you that has brought so much more life to my life than I ever could have anticipated it would. Knowing and having solid proof of all the connections that now exist as a result of the existence of Auburn Public Theater is its own glorious reward. Here’s to fifteen years of community building with all of you and to the hope and promise of (at least) fifteen more years to come... See more
Thank you (in advance) for thinking of APT on #GivingTuesday this year. When we have built back better, when we have returned to a new COVID-19 free normal, wh...en the doors to Main Stage, the Cinema and Studio Spaces and Stage Right have been joyfully flung back open and our annual trip to see a play on Broadway is back on the books, I think Fred Rogers’ message is going to be even clearer to us then than it is now. #loveisattherootofallthings See more
