The ReelAbilities Film Festival begins tonight and runs through May 5. Where ever you are, what ever you’re doing, try to watch some or all of the festival. As an honored member of the film selection committee, I can say (without bias of course), you’re in for a fantastic week of movies. And giant shout out to fellow BU alum Nina Tassler, one of the producers of our closing night movie Not Going Quiety, Ady Barkin’s story. Happy movie watching!!

The little boys face and the post say it all. From one adoptive parent of a special needs child to another, I feel you.

A MUST SEE! Seriously. As relevant today as it was when it was written a year ago. Probably more so.

Can't say enough for my friend and the man I hope will be the future City Councilperson for District 3 in NYC. His plans are well-conceived, motivated by sound knowledge and experience, and he is the kind of man who has the strength and conviction to put them into practice. Erik Bottcher all the way!

I am a fan of the work this non profit does and adore its founder, Bud Clayman.

As this most peculiar year comes to a close, I wish to thank all of my FB friends around the world, for your support and kindness. My little non-profit, The Fr...ank Ridge Memorial Foundation, floundered when NYC shut down - not unlike so many small businesses worldwide. I feared my legacy to my dad might be lost. But with your incredible generosity, a whole lot of grit and hard work (it was quite the challenge converting my live-in-person learning seminar formatting to self study and zoom), we pulled it off and will live another year. (And many more, I hope!) I'm running one last end-of-the-year holiday auction. So, if you haven't gotten all of your holiday gifts yet, visit: https://www.biddingforgood.com/livewell We've got collectible Barbies, tons of toys, Broadway memorabilia, books, and more. Many thanks to my dear friends Chris Byrne, Rachel Griffin and Barry Hoff for their generous donations for my auctions. Auction closes soon - this Wednesday, Dec 9, at 10 pm EST. All auction purchases (less auction fees and shipping and handling) are tax deductible and help us continue our work. Wishing you and yours a healthy, happy, warm, safe holiday season and a 2021 full of hope and promise.

May all little girls have the right to grow up to be Ruth Bader Ginsburgs. From the NYC I love, cherish and will protect with every ounce of my being (and even swim around sometimes).

Over 5,000 thanks to my generous donors. Our fundraiser closes this Friday, September 18, the eve of Rosh Hashonna. A fitting way to bring in a new year and hopes for mental health for all. Wishing you all good health, happiness, and year that is inscribed in the book of life. xox

For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to the Frank Ridge Memorial Foundation, founded in loving memory of my dad. Established in December, 2013, our organization is dedicated to living well with mental health conditions through awareness and understanding. We accomplish our mission annually by: Delivering learning seminars and seminar series, using movies about a wide variety of mental illnesses as a springboard for conversation. Seminars provide continuing ed...ucation credits for all NY licensed social workers and mental health professionals. The pandemic has presented unique challenges to our survival and required re-imagining our live-in-person formatting to self-study and Zoom sessions. In addition to our seminars on mental health conditions, this season we have developed timely new seminars entitled: "Just Mercy: social injustice" "Women's Rights & Mental Health," "Remote Learning & its Impact on Mental Health," and a series, "CONNECTING DOTS: global diseases & their impact on mental health." Frank Ridge Memorial Foundation is listed with Facebook's charitable organizations. Please consider raising funds on our behalf on your birthday this year. Special thanks to my dear friend Kathy Chambers Olsen for raising her birthday funds for us! See more
