Full Tank Charters 09.06.2021

The long awaited opener has finally arrived. It was a tough bite for us today but we're eating fish for dinner tonight. Going out again tomorrow to try to put a better program together. Today's fish were caught on stickbaits, bladebaits and raps in 7 to 12 feet of water.

Kathryn Tankersley came home with some wine today. Looks like she's looking forward to fishing too.

Back in January I stopped out to Lakeside Outfitters planning on buying an Otter Cabin. Ended up talking rods with Scott and ended up buying 4 Douglas LRS spinning rods instead. These will be a great addition on the Ranger this year. Thanks Lakeside Outfitters for hooking me up.

I'm now booking walleye trips on Oneida lake for the 2021 season. Last year the fishing on Oneida was off the charts and this year should be the same. Book early for prime dates. [email protected]

Today Dan and his son Zack took advantage of an absolutely gorgeous November day by going fishing with Full Tank Charters. We started off trolling for walleyes and in short order we filled the livewell with a nice boat limit, electing to toss several 15's back. Always a tough decision to not keep legal fish but it worked out just fine. Then we went and did a little blade baiting looking for perch but could only catch walleyes. Not a bad thing I guess. All in all a fun day with a Father and son.

Last minute trip today with Victor and his 2 children, Matthew and Avenir. Oneida lake has been very consistent all year and today was no exception. At the end of the 4 hour trip they had their boat limit plus. A great day with 3 great clients. Always a treat to see ear to ear smiles on the youngsters.

Today's trip was a split trip. Had 5 guys wanting to get in on the fall bite on Oneida. So I took Mike, Mike jr.and Shamus and Bill and Glen went on the second boat. We started off trolling and being very picky on what went in the livewell. We made 2 passes trolling then went to jig a few up. The trolling bite was exceptional. We caught a few jigging as well but it was nothing like the trolling bite. At the end of the day we cleaned 2 boat limits of oneida lake gold.

Another great adventure on Oneida lake today. Today's trip was with Ray and Kristine. Ray is a police officer and Kristine is a nurse. The bite early was like the weather, COLD! But fortunately like the weather it heated up. At the end of the trip the livewell was full. It was a fun day with 2 of our essential workers. Thank you for your services.

Today's adventure was an afternoon trip with Skip, his son in law Gordy and his son Jackson. This was Skips second trip with me this year. The first one was in August, and a very memorable one. We boated over 30 walleyes that day. Unfortunately today was not a repeat of that day. The walleyes were very elusive. I guess every day cant be that good. We did put a few in the boat though. More importantly Jackson had a smile on his face all day. It was a great afternoon with 3 great people. We'll get them next time! A special thanks to Ken Bundy.

Today's adventure was an afternoon affair in a stiff west wind. That wasn't going to stop Gerry and Mylene from catching a nice limit of eyes though. It was a bumpy ride out but that was quickly forgotten as we were rewarded right away with our first walleye.

Today's adventure was with Chad and his cousin Ryan. Chad was interested in doing some jigging today. So since the jigging bite hasn't really kicked in yet, I suggested that we start out trolling then do some jigging. He said that sounded like a good idea. So off we went to the trolling area I've been fishing for a couple of weeks. Wasn't long and we were on fish. After we caught our boat limit we were off to find some jigging eyes. Jigging was definitely slow, but we did manage to catch and release a few. Won't be long before the jigging bite kicks in. Guessing the water temp needs to drop about another 10 degrees. Till then we'll be watching planer boards bouncing in the waves.

Today's adventure was with Kory, his son Logan and his cousin Brian. Although it was much slower fishing today they still managed to put a nice limit in the boat. Give me a call if you'd like to get in on some fall walleye fishing.

Today's trip was with James and his brother Don. This was James second trip with me this year. Last time he brought his old navy buddy. This time he brought his brother. The fishing on oneida this year has been very good and consistent. Today was no exception. They caught a boat limit with no problem with a couple over 20 inches.

Today's trip was with a familiar face. Clarence was back in town, this time with his mother, Jonnie and his grandfather, Alby. It was so nice to see Clarence able to get his grandfather out for a day of fishing. The fishing was a little slower today but they still managed to get a boat limit without any problem.

Another great trip this morning. Brother's Andy and Cory and Cory's son Harrow didn't let temperatures in the low 30s stop them from having a fun trip on Oneida. The cold weather didn't seem to bother the walleyes as they easily caught a boat limit plus. Harrow caught the 3 largest walleyes today. Not too bad for a 9 year old.

Today's trip was with Jim and his old navy buddy, Randy. Randy was visiting from Washington state. The stiff east winds had the water rolling pretty good. We were all glad we were in a Ranger boat. The walleyes kept Jim and Randy busy all morning. It wasn't fast and furious but steady. In the end they brought back a nice limit to the dock.

Today's trip was with a returning customer, Clarance. This time instead of bringing his wife he brought his mom Jonnie. When we left the dock the winds were out of the south, pounding the north shore. Knowing the winds were only going to get stronger we knew we only had a short time to fish. Thankfully the fish were very cooperative. 2 hours later the boat was headed back to the launch with our limit of walleyes.

I had a last minute cancellation today so I took advantage of it and took my wife fishing. Always a good time and when the fish are biting like they are it's even better. Got to do a little exploring after we had our limits.

Managed to get today's trip in with just a short burst of rain. It was another outstanding bite for Fred, Kelly and their son Callahan. (Yes Fred is a big Clint Eastwood fan). I say another outstanding bite because Fred and Kelly were here with me last month and crushed the eyes. This time was a carbon copy, quickly putting a boat limit in the livewell. Oneida lake is still on fire.

This mornings trip was last minute. Got a call last night from Clarance wanting to catch some walleyes. He had been on Oneida twice in the past with less than stellar results. Said he was going to give it one more try. It didn't take long and his oneida drought was over. Clarence and his wife Ashley boated over 20 walleyes easily getting a boat limit. Not bad for 3 hours of fishing.

Another fun day on Oneida lake. This time it was with Rich and his mother, Mabel. It was an early bite for sure. Couldn't keep 4 rods in the water the first couple of hours. When the dust had settled Mabel and Rich had a nice boat limit to take home.

Today's charter was with an old co worker, from bud, Kelly Skinner. We've both retired and it was nice to see him and see all is well. Kelly brought his brother in law, Skip with him, he actually gave the trip to Skip for his birthday. The walleyes were once again eager to come aboard my Ranger. Another nice boat limit plus. Had a great time catching up with you Kelly. A special thanks to K& C Custom Engraving and Woodworking for my new fish board.
