*SCAM ALERT* Recently an individual received a phone call from "City of Fulton", with what appeared to be a local phone number. The call was a recording stating "this is law enforcement" and asking for the last four digits of their social security number. DO NOT give out this information. The police department is not going to ask you for your social security number over the phone. We also do not make calls that have automated messages. If you are concerned that the person you are speaking with is not a police officer, you can hang up and call the police department to verify someone from there contacted you.

**HALLOWEEN** This Saturday is Halloween night and we want to make sure that everyone stays safe. Here are photographs of the current CDC guidelines and recommendations for Halloween. The hours for trick or treating are the same as previous years, 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Some recommendations are to wear a face covering, stay socially distanced, trick or treat with your own household and don't have direct contact with individuals you don't live with. ... It is recommended to setup a "grab and go" station outside with individually wrapped goodie bags in front of your house so there is no contact between trick or treaters. Keep in mind that people may be uncomfortable handing out candy this year. Stay safe and have fun! https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov//13244_covid_halloweengu

The City of Fulton Police Department is expanding on its nearly decade long body worn camera program. Through the use of seizure funds obtained during previous drug investigations the department was able to obtain new body worn cameras for each patrol officer. In the past the department had a very limited number of cameras, this sometimes caused officers to be without the use of a camera. This is an important step in protecting our officers and the community. The expansion of the body worn camera program is seen as a positive step forward as we participate in the Governors Reform and Reinvention Collaborative.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the members of the Fulton Police Benevolent Association announce that they will be wearing pink badges during the month of October. An order was placed in August with Smith and Warren Badge Company, who produce the specialty badges. Every member of the Fulton Police Department purchased a pink badge, and in turn, Smith and Warren donates a percentage of the purchase price to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Locally, the Fulton PBA has also made a monetary donation to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Syracuse. Our thoughts go out to all people affected by this horrible disease as the world continues to fight for a cure.
