On 3/16/21 the Gloversville Police Department responded to and investigated several reports of animal abuse at a location on West St in the City. The reports were generated as the result of a social media post with a picture of a dog appearing to have its mouth taped shut. Upon investigation, the dog is actually pictured with a black muzzle that had been repaired with duct tape. The department is in the process of arranging for the dog's owner to be provided with a new muzzle to avoid any further confusion. We appreciate the public concern and are glad this was just a misunderstanding and not actual abuse.
Attached is the 1st quarter 2021 report referenced at last night's Council meeting.

*Survey Update* Survey respondents who answer "no" to being a City resident on question 1 will now be allowed to continue through the entire survey. The change is based on feedback committee members received after the survey launch. We also confirmed the survey platform provides the ability to analyze the responses based on the residency response. The survey has already been taken by about 700 people. We appreciate everyone who took the time to provide input.

https://thecurestartsnow.salsalabs.org//glovers/index.html What is Beard It Up / Color for the Cure? In short, it’s a way to have fun and support cancer research during the month of November. Employers ease their grooming policies and encourage employees to make a donation, and then allow them to grow out their beard or color their hair. Last year we had 3,200+ participants from across the country. It cost the department $0 to participate.... Why participate with The Cure Starts Now? We have funded a total of $15.2 Million in research across the country and around the world. We are only able to do this with support and participation from organizations and businesses like yours. We have a historical overhead of less than 3%. Your donations truly go to fund research. The research we fund is making a difference. For one of the deadliest brain tumors, DIPG, we are seeing children surviving longer. Those days are precious to their parents and families. The campaign takes place in November (or earlier if you want to get a head start). You can find more information at the link above or at www.bearditup.org
