Special Delivery A job well done by Det. Anniccharico, Paramedic Kelly, and P.O. Davis along with the Fairview Fire Department for delivering a healthy baby boy. Mother and baby are doing well.
Rescue 1 and Engine 5 rescued a small Stamford resident from behind a wall this morning. Members did a nice job locating and preventing injury to the cat and minimizing damage to the house. #AlwaysOnDutySPFFA
16 years ago on this day, one of the darkest days of the FDNY, the Black Sunday fires occurred. This remains the deadliest day for New York City firefighters si...nce September 11, 2001. On that fateful day, two separate fires took three of our member's lives. Though time has passed, our feelings of sorrow and loss remain poignant. We will forever remember the sacrifices they made while on the job and will continue to honor them in our daily lives. Rest In Peace to Lt. John G. Bellew of L27, Lt. Curtis W. Meyran of L27, and Firefighter Richard T. Sclafani of L103. Let us also remember Lt. Joseph DiBernardo of Rescue 3, who died as a result of injuries sustained. DiBernardo was promoted to Lieutenant before his passing and Bellew was promoted posthumously to Lieutenant as well. We will keep their loved ones in our thoughts and prayers as they continue these losses.
