If you missed the PercRoc concert at Kilburn Hall last night, you really missed something GREAT! Wow, I was blown away by the virtuosity of NEXUS, Michael Burritt, Bill Cahn and the rest of the group. Thank you all for creating a percussion concert about sustainability! You still have a chance to see a PercRoc performance TONIGHT at 6:00 on the Pont de Rennes Bridge! It will be (lots of)drums and fifes and all kinds of great percussion precision out on the bridge. Visit their web site for more information. http://percussionrochester.com
Two GREAT FREE percussion events this weekend. Perc Roc (Percussion Rochester) performs world premieres of pieces based on sustainability at Kilburn Hall concert, Friday, May 1, at 8:00pm. Then, on Saturday, May 2nd, several FREE regional events celebrating Drummer's Heritage Day! Come out to High Falls at 6:00pm to see a 2-hour drumming "muster" ON the Pont de Rennes Bridge! The sound of fifes and drums bouncing off the canyon walls should be astounding. Again all events are FREE and open to the public. http://www.percussionrochester.com
Great free event Sun. with incredibly talented Eastman grad Jeff Beal (who did a Q&A after a Last Call at the Oasis screening during Greentopia | FILM 12). Besides scoring House of Cards, Pollock, and Monk, you'll hear him in docs like Blackfish and The Queen of Versailles.
A neat, new, mini-doc from our pals at Post!
Inspiring programming at the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival. If you are in Ithaca this week, be sure to check it out.
Before Laura Kissel, director of Cotton Road Movie, left town she did an interview with @ConversationsWithCreatives. Listen here.
Best Festival So Far!
To all of the filmmakers, sponsors, buskers, artists, volunteers, venues, allies, and audiences who together made Greentopia | FILM 2015 the best ever! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
