Station at foot of incline, American Falls, Niagara Falls, c1901 The incline railway was built to replace an earlier staircase that was built in 1818, by General Whitney to enable people to access the ferry landing at the base of the Niagara Gorge. Whitney was a co-owner of this ferry service.

The Pan American Exposition 1901 - Main Government Building (from group of three buildings at the east end of the Esplanade.) The building, shown was 600 ft long by 130 ft wide. The height to the apex of the dome is 250 feet. "The Fountain of Man," by Charles Grafly, is seen in the center.... To the right "The Savage Age in the West," by John J. Boyle, and "The Despotic Age," by Isidore Konti. To the left "The Savage Age in the East," by John J. Boyle, and H. A. McNeil's "Despotic Age."

ROCHESTER Driving Park Avenue Bridge and Falls, c1904 Rochester's Driving Park Bridge opened to traffic in 1890, the only bridge to cross the Genesee River north of the city. Two previous bridges attempted on the site, in 1819 and 1856, collapsed within months of construction, making the survival and 96-year lifespan of this third bridge a monumental success.
