The Town of Parma and Hilton-Parma Recreation Department is accepting applications for a full-time Recreation Assistant position as detailed below: Full-Time Recreation Assistant (Flexible Hours) Town of Parma Recreation Department Starting Pay Rate: $15.50 / hour... Starting Date: Late May or Early June 2021 The position of Recreation Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director and other higher classifications, is an aide position involving responsibility for assisting recreational personnel with the daily routine tasks surrounding assigned program activities. Such activities may include Summer Camp and/or senior citizen programs. Employees may be required to assist in several activities and related work as required. Good knowledge of recreation principles/practices and of a variety of recreational activities such as arts/crafts; nature activities; organized games; and athletic activities as well as the ability to work well with children, senior citizens and other participants in a recreation program is required. We have less than 30 days left to raise some FUNds and could really use your support! We are planning to install a brand NEW, state-of-the-art PLAYGROUND at Parma Town Park to be ready for community use in the Spring of 2021. To make this a reality, we are looking for some assistance to help offset the cost and we are very shy of our public fundraising goal with less than 30 days left to reach it! The plan is to install new and exciting equipment to make our playground a plac...e where children will have the safe, stimulating, inclusive and healthy opportunities to play that they so need and deserve, especially during this Pandemic. The Town of Parma and Hilton Parma Recreation have FREE masks available for anyone in need. Please be safe and wear a mask whenever you are unable to social distance in public and around those you are not in regular contact with. To secure masks for you, your household members and/or those who may not be able to pick them up themselves, please set up an appointment with our team by calling 392-9030. You can call anytime between 8-4, Monday-Friday which is also the time frame for mask pick-ups.

Christmas Eve is tomorrow and we hope you are all in good spirits. If the Holidays are stressful in any way, we hope this can lift you, even if just a little. Just before Thanksgiving, our UPK Out of School Program held a food drive for the Hilton Food Shelf to help those who may be in need in our community. With just under 10 children in the program, the drive produced enough food to stuff, and we mean literally STUFF, an SUV full! The Food Shelf Director was overwhelmed with the effort and had to store some of the food in an alternate location because there was so much. We are so proud of our UPK Program. Thank you so much for spreading some holiday cheer. The first photo is one early in the drive. The second shows some of the kids with Thank You Notes from the Food Shelf.

It is official! We are planning to install a NEW PLAYGROUND at Parma Town Park and our Friends of Hilton-Parma Parks and Recreation and Recreation are helping us raise funds. If you or your kids have ever used the playgrounds at the park, you know how well used and important they are to the community so we kindly ask that you consider supporting the project with a donation that will help us raise our fundraising goal! The Video Visits with Santa! came to an end today after four days of time slots were given for us to offer some of the good girls and boys in the HP Rec Community. Santa is new to Zoom and so he just figured out today how to get photos of him and his visitors which are displayed below. Elf Hunt Winner Announcement!!!! We are excited to share the winners of our Elf Hunt this past Saturday, December 5th. The team that won the Hunt for the best time and most correct answers was Tobey Baley's Team, Team TLC. They won by a narrow margin of ONE minute!!! The team that won the Hunt for best dressed was Staci Hunn's Team who came dressed in customized elf shirts with matching hats and pajama pants!!! Great work to everyone who participated and thank you to Foster's... Restaurant, Abbott's Frozen Custard of Hilton, Hilton Family Pharmacy and the Hilton Lions Club for providing our prize packages. A representative from our office will reach out to the winning teams when prizes are ready for pick-up.
