Through the Student Lens 2021 Featured artists are students from participating Monroe County schools. We annually send invitations for this exhibit to all Monroe County schools. We are happy to have these 13 participating schools. Gallery Partners selected Pittsford Sutherland as Best in Show. Schools include: Allendale Columbia, Aquinas Institute, East Rochester, Fairport, Honeoye Falls - Lima, Le Roy, Pittsford Mendon, Pittsford Sutherland, School of the Arts, Spencerport..., Webster Thomas, West Irondequoit and Wheatland - Chili. Thanks and appreciation go to Michael Hager of Museum Photographics for the printing of the student work. Also exhibiting are Betsy Phillips in the Neuberger Gallery, Visiting Artist Clyde Comstock, Guest Photographer Phyllis Hackleman, Award Winning Photographers from Camera Rochester (Marie Costanza, Stan Hattman and Teresa Hastings), Artists in Residence Jim Patton and David Perlman and Gallery Partners Dick Bennett, Steve Levinson, Gil Maker, Don Menges, Luann Pero, Betsy Phillips, John Solberg and Sheridan Vincent. The show is on exhibit through April 18, 2021

Whirligig Geyser @ Biscuit Basin by Phyllis A. Hackleman Guest photographer Phyllis Hackleman has a series of photographs that she took some time ago at Yellowstone National Park. Whirligig Geyser @ Biscuit Basin is an excellent example of her goal to capture something different about Yellowstone. Cooper’s Hawk by Clyde Comstock This is Clyde’s second of three shows as Visiting Artist at the Gallery. In this Partners’ Pick he turns his attention to birds as exhibited by this beautiful rendition of a Cooper’s Hawk in mid-air with falling snow. True Colors features the photography David Bleich, a frequent presenter at the Gallery, as he studies colors and the effect of a different pallet than visitors may be used to. Also exhibiting are Visiting Artist Laura Knecht, "Hats & Masks" in the Neuberger Gallery, and Guest Photographers Jim Dusen, Dick Thomas and Steve Tryon, as well as Award Winning Photographs from Camera Rochester Competitions: Archie Curry, Loretta Petralis, Larry Mandelker and Paul Shew. Selected for a Partners’ Pick, David Bleich’s Mission Inn is indicative of his technical expertise. The predominant color, red, is the focus and the accents along the lines of the buildings which keep the eye in the photo. We Welcome submissions forThe Magic of Light 2021 The theme of the fifteenth annual 2021 Image City Juried Show is again titled The Magic of Light. You can find all details by going to our Image City Homepage and click on the "Call for Submissions" link. Submissions due: November 1. Attached are winning photos from Magic of Light 2020 "Fading Away" by Marie Constanza, "Water Colors" by Megan Crandlemire and "Vespers" by Margy Meath.

As part of our next show at Image City, we are exhibiting our Mask and Hat project. Over 60 people had their portraits taken with their masks on. A picture of our current situation.

John Retallack has a very moving collection of written reflections and photos for this exhibit. Atlanta Sunrise stands out as an excellent example of John’s thorough and thoughtful work on this project. Bruno Chalifour received a Partners’ Pick for Number 7-The Breuilh. His exhibit comprises scenes from his hometown in France where he spent the early months of the current pandemic.
