Juntos Avanzamos (Together We Advance) is a designation for #creditunions committed to serving and empowering #Hispanic and immigrant consumers, helping them navigate the U.S. financial system and providing safe and affordable financial services. Juntos Avanzamos credit unions employ bilingual, culturally-competent staff and leadership, accept alternative forms of ID, and treat all of their members with respect, regardless of immigration status. #diversity and #inclusion is at the heart of #Inclusiv's work. We've been leading the national expansion of Juntos Avanzamos, in partnership with the Network of Latino Credit Unions and Professionals (NLCUP); Coopera; Cornerstone Credit Union League, and a growing number of state leagues and associations across the country. https://juntosavanzamos.org/

The Fall 2020 issue of Credit Union Magazine featured another Inclusiv member: Florida A&M University Federal Credit Union! CEO, Sheilah Montgomery, described how the credit union is assisting local African American entrepreneurs through personal relationships and catering to their unique needs: Many young African American entrepreneurs fear rejection because of past experiences with other financial institutions, Montgomery says. They were financing their businesses out of t...heir own pockets. So when we say access to capital, the first thought in a Black entrepreneur’s head is ‘I have nowhere to go.’ For the businesses that are very small and have not been able to leverage the growth needed to expand, We’re here to help them do that, says Montgomery.
