THE ART OF MAKING MADE IN AMERICA POSSIBLE: PART II THE MAN BEHIND (under) THE HELMET, JASON KIRSHON Avid motorcyclist, Founder and CEO, Jason Kirshon knows what he likes in a helmet. The style, the performance and the comfort, according to Jason. Kirshon has built what the company calls a revolutionary motorcycle helmet, smaller and denser than traditional motorcycle head protection, and fundamentally different in design. The helmet idea was born when Jason was attending... one of the big bike rallies in 2008 in Laconia, New Hampshire, a state where helmets are optional. I watched approximately 100,000 bikers ride by, and only one had a helmet, and he was on a moped, he recalls. For Kirshon, the helmets made today just don’t cut it. He said they’re either too big or don’t offer enough protection. So, years ago, the Lake George native set off on a mission to create the perfect helmet. After twelve long years of research and development, Kirshon said he has made a more effective helmet. Its development, he says, an extinction event for the traditional helmet, which allows force of impact to continue in a straight line toward the skull of the person wearing it and relies on a thick layer of foam that lines the helmet to reduce the force to a safe level before it reaches the skull. The KIRSH design spreads the force of impact through a silicone gel lining the helmet, dissipating it so that no single part of the skull receives a harmful degree of impact. Jason also wanted to give riders something else that most helmets don’t have or rather can say. Our helmet is all American-made! The vendors are all American manufactures and the assembly is done by Americans (both Vets and disabled workers). We are all proud of what we have accomplished here. The helmet called Kinetic Impact Reactive Safety Helmet uses patented silicone technology to reduce impacts during crashes. Kirshon hopes that it will change the motorcycle industry forever.
