Hello! We are so overwhelmed with everything,from the amount of work that needs to be done to the incredible outpouring of community support here in Westfield and beyond. We have donations all the way from Canada and down into Pennsylvania. I had no idea we had touched so many people. I am overjoyed in my heart and we look forward to A huge week next week. We literally need to gut the building. This entails getting absolutely everything out of there and tearing down all ...the walls, getting all the drywall screws and the drywall out of the walls, tearing up the floors etc. It will not be an easy undertaking but we have decided to rebuild here where our hearts are. I have many people trying to pull me in different directions but I feel I owe it to the community to do what we need to do here in Westfield. Please please please donate if you can even if it’s only two dollars. Do not be embarrassed. Two dollars is more than we have without it. One way we can get 100% of the money is through PayPal friends and family - [email protected] . We are compiling a book of before and after along with people that have donated because we are going to create a wall with everyone’s name on it that has helped in this rebuild. A special thanks to Pastor Vinnie and the Men from Lakeshore Assembly of God along with Fred Forsythe, Julie and Denny, Mr.Jimmy and Joann Love Lewis and husband for helping in the brutal heat yesterday. We have received the go ahead to rebuild right where we left off, here in beautiful Westfield, NY where we have an amazing community, full of spirit and generosity the likes of which we have never seen. It has been an extremely long weekend for us, but now it's over and we're getting back to the grind with our heads down, ready to go and start rebuilding... But we need your help! Happy 4th of July, everyone! To all the people who keep calling us today... No, we're sorry, but we will not be cooking BBQ today. Needless to say, that simply is not possible this quickly. Enjoy it with your loved ones, you never truly know when the next time will be. For anyone who was interested/asking about other options other than GoFundMe, we have set up an account with our bank, Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit union that anyone is able to deposit into at any time. Hello, this is Joe the old guy my kids keep in the back because people think I am angry, unapproachable, you know me. This Has been one of the most difficult days I’ve had in my life in a long time. As you know our building Burnt and is totally destroyed. I stayed strong all day and remain that way for my children. I did not cry while the building was burning down. However, I have in fact Been crying because of the outpouring of support from the community which we serve and... live in. I usually don’t post things as my son Ryan is much more eloquent. I stay positive as I know our most powerful God Has created a different path. Ryan told me we had almost 50,000 views of the small post he put on Facebook. We did not have insurance because of my foolish pride in arguing with an insurance sales agent in and about the last time I had insurance for the building and did not get paid or when we had the big hail storm and they would not help and I had planned on redoing our policy because they were not going to cover us even though I have been buying the building for 6 1/2 years they did not consider me an owner because of a land contract. I told Ryan OMG if everyone that saw our post gave us a dollar we can rebuild next week. He has started a go fund me page and he is going to revise it tomorrow so we can accept PayPal. I have never asked much from anybody in my life and it’s hard for me as a proud person to ask anything from anyone as I am normally a giver. I live by the Golden rule my mom taught me. I wish more people did these days. I’m sorry for my rant but I cannot believe how many people have come forward to offer their support when I thought that they were so many people that didn’t care as we have all experienced hard times lately. We know a lot of you don't like GoFundMe, and can't say as we blame you. It was simply a place to start as we try and figure things out and appreciate you all SO DAMN MUCH. We have so many things going on right now and love love love you all. We hope to be back as quickly as possible to serving you again - in what fashion, we're not sure yet. It is with extreme sadness that I write this to say the BBQ burned to the ground today around noon just as we were putting the finishing touches of paint on the front door and cooking food to reopen tomorrow. Everyone is ok. The building is a total loss. We are not sure where to go or what the future holds at this very moment. Please remain patient as we assess where to go from here.
