A successful contract administrator will need to interface between Superintendents, Foremen, Owners (DOT), Vendors, Subcontractors and other members of the project team. Some of the specific responsibilities include review of drawings and specifications for proper payment, Foremen report review and correction for payroll and quantity/payment tracking, scheduling material orders, contract administration including processing of purchase orders, cost monitoring, problem solving,... tracking and progress payments. Project start up duties such as assisting the project Superintendent in the process of obtaining and setting up the field office. Quantity reporting, production tracking, material ordering/scheduling, field office communications, invoice approvals and other miscellaneous record keeping duties. Requires the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and posses strong problem solving and analytical skills. Must be a self-starter with good communication skills, strong organization, detail oriented with the ability to retain big picture thinking. MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING. Must be willing and able to work in a fast paced environment which includes long hours. Must be able to multi-task and accommodate multiple requests effectively. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. A high school or GED diploma is required. Strong data entry skills are required. 3-5 years of business administration experience is preferred. An Estimator must have strong math skills and a high attention to detail in order to prepare cost estimates for heavy/civil construction projects. All work is time sensitive, so an estimator must be prepared to work as required to meet customer deadlines. The duties include reviewing plans, proposals & specifications, calculating takeoff quantities of all work items, work with engineering as needed for schedule analysis, false work & lifting plan design and computing cost of ...construction. An estimator must also maintain the estimating software system. The estimator also searches for new bid opportunities and assists in the transition to the project management team for projects won. MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING., Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment which includes long hours., Must be able to multi-task and accommodate multiple requests effectively., Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Valid Drivers' license with good driving history required. A high school diploma or GED is required., Strong math, written and verbal communication skills are required., A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program is preferred., An advanced degree is a plus., In lieu of an advanced degree, 5+ years of experience in heavy highway or bridge construction preferred. Basic computer skills are required., Strong data entry skills are required., Strong PC/Microsoft Office skills (including MS Excel/MS Word) are required., Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints/plans is required.
