The Landmark Society welcomed two new staff members this week! You'll be seeing a lot more of Preservation Outreach Coordinators (Co-Coordinators?!) Becky Timmons and Ryan Jarles on our social media platforms. They will be working together to manage community outreach and digital media, and will work closely with the preservation team on fee-for-service projects. Becky and Ryan both moved to Rochester after spending many years in the south, so they're looking forward to mild summer weather and exploring all that the region has to offer! https://www.landmarksociety.org/becky-timmons-and-ryan-jar/

We hope you'll consider us in your #ROCtheDay / #GivingTuesday giving: your donation to #preservation-related non-profits can have a tremendously catalytic impact in our community, as in the case of 54 Madison down the street from Susan B. Anthony Museum & House in #RochesterNY (before/after), which received financial help from our Preservation Grant Fund. Many thanks in advance - donations accepted here until midnight: https://www.roctheday.org//Landmark-Society-of-Western-New Consider giving to the SBA House, too!

After languishing for several decades, municipal offices and residents were moved into the rehabbed former Holley High School this year; this is the kind of catalytic work your end-of-year giving can spark for #RochesterNY-area communities Your support for our 2020 Annual Fund will be tremendously helpful in allowing this work to continue in communities across the region in the new year and beyond. Thanks in advance for your generous giving: https://www.landmarksociety.org/product/donation/

Today is #ROCtheDay / #GivingTuesday: we're teaming up with Genesee Country Village & Museum and the #RochesterNY Housing Development Fund Corporation to remind you of the catalytic impact your donations to #preservation-related non-profits can have in our community; the former Holley High School, listed on our inaugural #FivetoRevive list in 2013 and recently rehabbed for municipal offices and housing, is a great example! This year's events are asking us to be ever better neighbors to each other; preservation is one of the collective tools we have to do this, recognizing the uniqueness and dignity of the places we and our neighbors inhabit and preparing the built environment to accommodate our hopes for the most inclusive future we can envision for ourselves. PLEX Neighborhood Association is inviting us as preservationists, and many other stakeholders with other talents, to this University of Rochester Rochester Center for Community Leadership online panel discussion tonight "See" you there, neighbor!
