"Your car is your lodge!" If you are someone who goes to Ski Resorts to downhill ski, XC ski, or even to go snow tubing, you have probably heard those words this year. This has been the mantra adopted by resorts across the country. With that comes certain changes from previous years, and we wanted to give you a few ideas that might be helpful. 1. Purchase tickets in advance. If you are renting equipment, please know your Height, Weight, and Shoe Size. This will speed up th...e rental process greatly. 2. Make a DIY floormat. Putting on ski boots in a car can be tricky. By using an old piece of rug, an old floormat from a car, or even a yoga mat you can have a spot outside without getting your feet wet. 3. Try not to store your boots in your trunk or in a roof rack, as they will be cold when putting them on. Keeping them near the heater outlet inside is a much cozier choice. If that is too hard with a full car, pop a hand warmer in each boot when you leave your house. 4. Bring an old towel, sheet, shower curtain, or blanket to put against your car. Many people will lean against their car at some point, so bringing something to fold over the bumper, or to put against the car will help you not get road dirt all over yourself. 5. If you have room, bring a folding table and/ or chairs to eat your lunch outside on those nice winter days. We have seen some impressive tailgating at Lapland Lake. (PLEASE be mindful of parking lot traffic!) 6. Carry a small step stool to sit on while putting on and taking off your boots outside. Here is a photo of one of our customers setting up to have lunch. Often times we get so busy that we don't get to stop and take photos of our facility and trails. We get very excited when we see posts and pictures from our customers! We are open today and tomorrow for Season Pass holders and will be opening to day ticket guests starting Saturday December 19th.
