January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Our Executive Director, Michelle Brown, also serves as Co-Chair on the Southern Tier Human Trafficking Task Force. As part of our Year End Campaign, we've been shining the spotlight on the significant impact that fathers have in their children's lives. Here at Life Choices Center, we are privileged to offer programs that support men as well as women. This year's campaign is focused on meeting our need to hire a Men's Program Director to develop and expand our Men's Program to educate and empower more men to rise to their callings to be healthy, supportive fathers, husbands, boyfriends, ...and/or partners. Did you know... there has been a silent pandemic brewing in our country, and even more, right here in our community? In Broome County alone, 37% of homes with children under the age of 18 are single-parent homes? This is 15% higher than the national average, and statistics show that 80% of these are single mother households. We believe there is a cure for this devastating pandemic afflicting families in our community, and we share this cure through our Men's Program. Feeling blessed! This morning’s blessing came from a gentlemen who has made a habit of just dropping by now and then to bring boxes of diapers.
