In our local community and worldwide the Imagination Library continues to foster a lifelong love of reading, and that effort has been recognized in a new documentary "The Library That Dolly Built" Please join us in celebrating the world facebook premiere of this film on December 9, 2020 at 7 PM... EST followed by a Live performance and Q&A session with Dolly Parton! https://fb.me/e/L4G703wr And in honor of this special occasion, we’re hosting a facebook fundraiser. We have over 150 Million reasons to celebrate! At the end of 2020, we gifted our 150 Millionth Book! Sending many thanks to our amazing partners all over the world who helped us reach this amazing milestone! #DollysLibrary #Milestone
Did you know that this cutie has been enrolled in our local Imagination Library Program? Violet became a Dolly Parton fan after receiving the books! All children from birth to age 5 are eligible to receive free monthly books mailed to their homes in Onondaga County. Please support us and help spread the word!
One of our Imagination Library parents posted the following memory as we celebrated reaching the 100,000 books distributed mark...fast forward to today as we are closing in on 1,000,000 books distributed...now that’s another milestone to celebrate! 5 years ago today, Caroline was the recipient of the 100,001 book from the Literacy Coalition of Onondaga County (Syracuse,NY) this honor was made possible by her Pediatrician. Fast forward 5 years, she has received a book every month and just received her very last book just before turning 5. We are very sad this journey has come to an end, but very thankful to be apart of #thelibrarythatdollybuilt Dolly Parton
On November 23, we will share BIG NEWS from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library!
Thanks to our friends at the Onondaga County Public Libraries!
So proud of what has been accomplished over the past decade in bringing Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to Onondaga County! Through the COVID-19 pandemic, all Dolly Parton's Imagination Library partners have been operating at full capacity, allowing over 15,500 children in Onondaga County to receive their monthly books on time. In the light of the pandemic, it is more important than ever to strengthen and nurture the bond with your child through sitting down and reading with them, said Kimberly Kemp. We are not slowing down and plan to continue expanding to reach more children every day. Read more below...
