Repost from @iatse For International Transgender Day of Visibility, today we celebrate the beloved transgender members of our community. We will keep up the fight to eradicate the discrimination trans people still face, both inside and outside of the workplace.
LOCAL 52 LABOR ASSISTANCE MARCH UPDATE .... Hello Brothers and Sisters, Hopefully we can see some light at the end of this long tunnel as Spring forces its way into our paths and daylight accounts for more commuting time! Below please find this free ongoing zoom event put together by one of my great group resources; Alumni in Recovery in NJ. There’s a lot of resource out there for those that struggle and their families as well. We want to raise awareness, end the stigma and... offer helpful resources to our union sisters and brothers and their families who struggle with behavioral issues, depression and addictions etc. Please take a moment to stop in. This is a recurring webinar with the same ID and PW( see info on poster below) On another important note please remember we have great resources from within and help from BEHIND THE SCENES and The ACTORS FUND. I imagine many members are not aware that Behind the Scenes actually offers grant assistance and social worker help to facilitate in getting behavioral health therapy to our members. We are still in crisis times with addictions and overdoses soaring at all time statistics during this pandemic . Please take a moment to checkout these resources. Lori Rubenstein is the contact at Behind the Scenes. Some of you may have seen her presentation at a recent 52 virtual meeting. It was excellent. Lastly, Gavin Curran and myself are available 24/7 to facilitate for our members in any way. Peace and recovery One Day at a Time Fraternally yours m, Glynis B.

Local 52 Brother Matthew Kowalski is in need of our help. After eleven years of being a Leadman, he has come down with a bad case of Degenerative Disk Disease. Surgery is needed to deal with the disk herniations that occurred due to this condition, and he can no longer work, leaving him without insurance and piling bills. Please contribute if you are able to at this time. Thank you. https://gofund.me/90c526ba
