Big News : #HIV is the latest disease to get a #vaccine breakthrough. The first in-human clinical trials for an #HIVVaccine has produced promising results stimulating production of rare immune cells needed to start the process of generating antibodies against the fast-mutating virus, according to Scripps research. The jab utilizes the same tech with mRNA, which is the same tech used in the #Moderna #COVID19 vaccine (thanks Dolly Parton!) The targeted response was detected in 97% of participants who received the shot. According to Julie McElrath, MD, the clinical trial provides a roadmap to accelerate further progress toward an HIV vaccine. Does this mean a major breakthrough in the near future? We hope so!
