Suzanne Belperron began her jewelry design career in 1919 and her influence still holds sway today. Her contemporary, Elsa Peretti, transformed silver from common to breath-taking at Giorgio di Sant’ Angelo Halston and most famously, Tiffany & Co. In 1981, Marina Bulgari designed the choker Cristina, a series of five, with differently coloured stones. It was accompanied with bracelets and earrings. It was a very beautiful parure, requiring a great weight of pear-shaped precious stones on a diamond pave punctuated with onyx. This edition was made of more than 50 carats of Pink Tourmaline and approximately 11 carats of diamonds.
