We loved the recent episode of Eric Krasno Plus One with Amy Helm. We can’t wait for Amy to join us at Roots Rock Revival this August! There’s still a few spots available, we hope to see you there link in bio! #Repost @erickrasno... In the latest episode of @krazplusone, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter @amyhelmmusic joins me to talk about her extraordinary life of music. You’ll hear Amy explain the writing and production processes behind her upcoming album What The Flood Leaves Behind, and how the legendary barn that her father built brings out the most genuine expression from the musicians who play within its walls. You’ll also hear Amy detail Levon Helm’s process for building the barn, discuss working with T Bone Burnett and how he helped her band Ollabelle grapple with immediate success, and her one of a kind story about seeing Joni Mitchell at The Last Waltz. Check out a clip of the episodeand listen to the full episode wherever you get your podcasts

Delighted to share a little about #JoelHarrison in our next #ArtistSpotlight. We have been lucky enough to work with Joel for years now putting on Alternative Guitar Summit Camps and now taking the camps and bringing them online! The next installment of AGS online is happening in March. We hope to see you there! Guitarist, composer, arranger, lyricist, vocalist and songwriter Joel Harrison has created a new blueprint for jazz. (New Orleans Times Picayune.) A Guggenheim Fel...low (2010), and Chamber Music America, Meet the Composer, New Music USA, Jerome Foundation, NYSCA and Flagler Cary Trust commissioned composer, Harrison is a two-time winner of the Jazz Composer’s Alliance Composition Competition, and has appeared on the Rising Star Downbeat Magazine poll for many years. His 20 releases as a leader showcase his prowess as a shapeshifting composer, including works for orchestra, string quartet, solo cello, and percussion, including the PASIC award-winning marimba solo Fear of Silence. Notable releases include Free Country featuring Norah Jones and David Binney, Infinite Possibility (for jazz orchestra), String Choir Music of Paul Motian, and Search feat. Donny McCaslin. His buoyant, heartfelt, ever-surprising body of work seamlessly connects multiple American traditions. The most recent release, Still Point: Turning World (Whirlwind), featuring Ben Wendel, Dan Weiss, and Anupam Shohakar, highlights Harrison’s unique ability to shape sound from disparate sources, in this case jazz, Indian music from north and south, and classical percussion. Harrison’s palette seems inexhaustible, founded in jazz but veering across the globe, into classical, rock, country, and all manner of American roots music. He was succinctly described by the New York Times, as Proteanbrilliant. The latest big band CD, America at War, was described by All Music Guide as "a masterful work whose significance and musical importance will endure." "Music is like a conversation. One person says one thing that speaks with a harmonica, with a bass, with a drum. They're all conversating, and we're just trying to find a way to make conversation rather than blah, blah, blah. But it's not really so hard a thing to do if you know the way to approach it." #StephenMarley
