When your son understands the importance of baby wearing, he carries his doll too! Did you know that baby wearing facilitates bonding and brain development? Babies who are worn cry less and are calmer. It increases breastfeeding rates, especially in older babies. Its also so much easier to function with two hands free! #babywearing... #sollydolly #sollywrap #doula See more

As many of you know and saw my homebirth video, my son had a shoulder dystocia. I’ve received so many messages on how wonderfully it was handled and how calm ev...eryone was. My sons cord was kept intact while he was resuscitated on my chest. A provider shared our homebirth video at the L&D unit at a hospital. Hospitals are not used to seeing this or even practicing what was done at my homebirth. This is the message I just received from the provider who shared my homebirth video: I have made sure your birth video has been shown all around my l&d unit; staff, residents, midwives, nurses... everyone needs to see just how incredibly powerful a birth team can be when they stay calm and work together. You guys are INCREDIBLE. It was pretty interesting; the nurses for the most part were as in awe as I was! The best teaching part by far for all of us was the resuscitation! The way the baby was kept with you, you were encouraged to talk to him and everyone was calm and determined, he continued to get oxygen through the cord. It was beautiful, and definitely made me adjust my own practice when it comes to resuscitations. The OBs loved the way your SD was managed, the position changes, the internal maneuvers. They were fascinated because we just don’t have that kind of room in a hospital room to do the kinds of things you did.
