Our dear friend and Lion in service, Lorraine Santacroce passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2020. She joined the Newburgh Lions on April 13, 2009, with Dr. David Fitzgerald as her sponsor. As you all know, Lorraine was an invaluable asset to our club as well as to her beloved Mount Saint Mary College, her church and multiple friends, former students and colleagues. She will be sorely missed. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Our 2019 Clay Shoot Fundraiser held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 was a BIG success. We netted $8,000 to support our vision and community service programs. Thank you to all who registered, our sponsors and The Thorpe Charitable Foundation as our event sponsor.

Today, at 10:00 a.m., a Plaque Re-Dedication Ceremony took place in Algonquin Park, Newburgh, NY, to honor Colonel Frederic Delano. Representatives from Orange County Government, Town of Newburgh, and Newburgh Lions Club were in attendance. The Newburgh Lions enlarged on Frederic A. Delano's donation of land to form Algonquin Park. In 1955, a ceremonial bronze plaque was installed. That plaque went missing. After discussions with the Town Historian and the Newburgh Historical Society, the Newburgh Lions have donated the cost to replace that plaque. In 2017, the Newburgh Lions donated an adjacent parcel of land in keeping with Mr. Delano's wishes "A park where people may enjoy picnicking, fishing and simple outdoor sports." Thank you Lion Susan Carroll for the wonderful pictures!
