Happy St. Patrick’s Day! The Doyle Senior Center kicked off their soft re-opening with a St. Patty’s lunch/senior reunion. Hot lunches are now being served a few times a week and exercise programs underway. Over the last 7 months, the New Rochelle Office for the Aging has made a number of adjustments to accommodate our seniors in the safest way possible, while still providing the activities they need and love! Our seniors have enjoyed socially distanced exercise classes, grab & gos, wellness checks, bingo to name a few. And starting this month hot meals will be distributed twice a week. As the cold months are ahead of us, our outdoor programs will be taking place indoors, which will require limited participation and additional modifications. #TBT - OFA Executive Director Phillis Maucieri joined Mayor Noam Bramson at Stop & Shop for his flu shot. Westchester County Health Officials encourage residents to do the same! Flu activity is usually highest between December and February, but can last into May. One flu vaccine now provides protection all season long and can prevent illness or reduce the severity of flu symptoms. Seniors looking to keep in shape can now access exercise classes in the safety and comfort of their own homes!
