Kids grow like weeds.... that we know. If your child has grown out of their sporting equipment and you are looking to declutter, we will take that gently used ...equipment off of your hands to help out other families whose little ones may be trying a sport for the first time. Right now we are in need of cleats. Youth soccer, football, and softball. If you have any laying around you're looking to unload, contact Michelle and she will come by to pick them up. Swim lesson registration begins Monday May 10. Due to COVID restrictions lessons will look different, and the 3-4 age group as well as all swimmers in level 3 or under will need an adult to accompany them in the water for all lessons since our instructors are required to maintain 6 feet of social distancing. Please read the info prior to registering to ensure you are equipped to have your child participate with the changes instituted. https://ntparksrec.com/info/activities/program_details.aspx

We are excited to be awarded a $1,000 grant from the The New York State Urban Forestry Council to plant trees at Payne Park. This summer 20+ dead trees were removed from this location and we are happy to reintroduce new trees with the help of this grant. This Saturday November 7 at 10:00am members of the Common Council, Mayor Art Pappas and the Parks & Recreation Department will be on hand to plant the trees and have a celebration ceremony. Due to the current pandemic we cannot invite all of you all out with us, but we invite you to join virtually as we stream portions of the ceremony via Facebook live. We have a couple open spots remaining if any individuals would like to be a part of the planting process. If so, message us or email [email protected] to confirm a spot.

Last night the Common Council approved a resolution making North Tonawanda City parks and outdoor recreational facilities smoke & vape free. Special thanks to CHANT Community Health Alliance of North Tonawanda, Amanda Hucksoll from Relaity Check for Erie/Niagara County and Bob Pecoraro for spearheading the movement!
