Lauren and Joe Grimm have put their heart and soul into their brewing business Grimm Artisanal Ales, which they started in their Brooklyn apartment seven years ago. Despite the obstacles they continue to face from the pandemic, the couple remain committed to their community, customers, and staff who have always been there for them. Our biggest moneymaker at Grimm were large gatherings. Every Saturday, we’d have the place packed with people who were excited to try and b...uy our new releases. But when COVID hit in March, the core of our businesses was gone. It’s been energizing to suddenly have the regulatory landscape change completely and come up with new ways to continue and live. It required us to be creative and flexible. We started canning all of our beers and for the first time - directly shipped our products to consumers. We received such an outpouring of support from the community. It’s small businesses that help shape the identity and character of NYC neighborhoods. We’re all in because we love Brooklyn, we love our staff, we love our customersit’s where our journey started. Are you all in on NYC? If so, share your story using the hashtag #AllInNYC and tag NYCEDC & NYC: The Official Guide. See more
