We have an SCBA-IFO-FF1 class now open for registration. Please see attached flyer for details. Students in the current BEFO may register with the caveat that they successfully complete their BEFO course. We are also looking at dates for a weekday course.

Today, there aren’t many words. We lost a brother. A brother who laid down his life to save the life of an endangered citizen trapped within a very difficult ho...use fire. Our brother, Ricardo Rico Torres is a father, a husband, a son, friend to many, family to all. The words will come, but for now the New Haven Fire Department will grieve. As we grieve we shall pray and continue to come together for another brother, Lt. Samod Nuke Rankins, as he continues to fight & heal from injuries sustained within the fire, and we ask you to do the same. We thank you for the continued support & outreach. It is with deep regret that the Dikeman Engine and Hose Co. No. 3 of the Goshen Fire Department announces the passing of 40 Year member and Past Captain John Egbertson, Jr. Visitation will be Thursday, September 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A firematic service will be held in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Any department attending is asked to be at the funeral home no later than 6:45 p.m in full dress uniform. Contact President Jeff hunt at 845-772-2144 for any questions. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen, NY.

Orange County Fire Services will be conducting training sessions for Radio Procedures for the New Radio System which will go into effect this Fall. Chiefs are asked to ensure that officers and/or key representatives attend one of the training dates. Registration is required to ensure that adequate space for social distancing is maintained.

Tuesday night marked the first official public appearance of the County’s Commissioner of Fire Services/Fire Coordinator Vini Tankasali, after a long battle wit...h COVID-19. Tankasali was introduced by County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus at the Firefighter One graduation at the County’s Fire Training Center and received a warm response from the crowd. Vini was diagnosed with COVID-19 in late-March and spent 10 weeks in the hospital. The father of a one year old son, Vini endured life-threatening complications and is still recovering. However, he is back working again and is very grateful. Tankasali said he was lucky to have his strong, loving, and resilient wife, Kim, a Physician’s Assistant, by his side during his illness. Vini has also been touched by all the well-wishes and kind gestures from County Government personnel and the Fire Services community. Everyone in the Fire Services community and County Government knows and loves Vini. We are all happy to see him back.
