Family dinner time! Last night, the adults in my house had delicious crunchy chickpea bowls. My kids don’t like their food mixed together these days, so they had the same things we did, just separated, with a choose your own veggies platter. Those beautiful colors are irresistible to kids, and kids love when they get autonomy over their food choices. It was a delicious dinner all around! Kid-friendly, adult-friendly, and no need to cook 16 different dinners to please every me...mber of my family. For adults: seasoned chickpeas made crunchy in the oven, over quinoa. Mixed chopped veggies and our favorite tahini sauce then fresh avocado over the top. For kids: quinoa, same crunchy chickpeas, and half an avocado sprinkled with their favorite seasoning. While we’re talking about breakfast... this is my other breakfast choice. Since I eat the same thing ALMOST every day, here is what I eat the other days! I usually choose this breakfast if I wake up feeling extra hungry. 2/3 cp rolled oats, with 1 Tbsp hemp seeds, 1 Tbsp almond butter, soy milk, and miscellaneous fruit. Another salad pic?? Yes, because omg look at it!!! Even as adults, we eat with all of our senses. Making food that looks as good as it tastes can improve your satiety and overall eating experience. How do you not slow down to enjoy something that looks this good? When you take a moment to enjoy your meal, and are not distracted doing other things while eating, you will eat less because you will be able to recognize your body’s satiety cues. You will also feel more satisfied ...because you will remember tasting and chewing your food. It may sound silly, but those steps are important for us to feel satisfied after a meal. Plus, it can still be quick and simple. This salad only took a few minutes to make, but it looks amazing thanks to Mother Nature!
