Today #PolyPrep Spanish teacher Maite Iracheta continued a Poly tradition of celebrating the Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead, this time outdoors. She pushed a moving altar (Ambulant Altar) through the "grass hallways" of the Upper School. Gaudencio Andrade and his wife, Laura, made a fantastic structure on wheels over the weekend for the celebration.

Please join us in congratulating math teacher Dr. Stephen Bates on successfully defending his dissertation, The Graphing Calculator and Achievement in Middle School Mathematics: The Effects of Course Level and Student Achievement Level, this evening! Stephen will now receive his Ed.D. in Learning and Teaching with a Specialization in Human Development and Educational Psychology from Hofstra University. #PolyPrep is so proud of Dr. Bates and his achievement. Congratulations.

Congratulations to #PolyPrep Varsity Girls' Soccer and Coach Kristin Cannon on being named as recipients of the United Soccer Coaches Team Pinnacle Award for the 2019-20 academic year. "For our team to earn the United Soccer Coaches Pinnacle Award is a testament to our student-athletes and their commitment to each other and this program.," said Coach Cannon. "To be one of only 23 high school teams in the country to have this distinction is a source of pride for our program and our community. This is a cumulative award for earning national awards in academics, sportsmanship, and winning percentage. Thank you to everyone involved with our program. To our coaches, parents, and teachers - thank you."

#PolyPrep is so proud of seventh grader Grace Moore '26, who is scheduled to appear on CBS This Morning on Thursday between 8-9 AM. Grace composed a piece, "Summer," that was performed by a trio as part of the NY Philharmonic's Very Young Composers program. @nyphilharmonic @polyprepARTS
