Another person chooses a PREMIUM radio installation! Unlike many other local shops, we will NEVER use butt connectors or crimp caps to connect an aftermarket radio to your vehicle.
This is a really cool piece of nostalgia. This ad is from a college paper in 1979! Mobile Audio has come a long way to say the least.
Here we have a 2016 Subaru WRX that came in for a lowering kit, and some fresh rubber for her gold chrome wheels. We wrapped these in 255/35/18 Falken Azenis FK510 tires!
DO YOU HAVE A 16-21 HONDA CIVIC?? You can now replace the factory radio! A new TurboTouch dash kit for 2016-2021 Honda Civic models (excluding LX) is here. The 99-7821B dash kit has a built-in touchscreen that shows climate and personalization settings that would normally be lost when replacing the radio. It also retains the OE Honda LaneWatch and backup cameras, audio controls on the steering wheel, and more.... http://www.metraonline.com/part/99-7821B
Not all Kicker L7 subwoofers are created equal. In case you missed it, we have a #kicker quad box here at PCI installed in one of our vehicles. This unit comes loaded with four twelve inch L7R subwoofers. Not a bad sub by any means, however, the amplifier that we have running that setup could easily power a more robust motor. So what we did is ordered four Q series L7 subwoofers to replace the L7R's. There is no comparison. Just look at the difference in the motor structures, not just the sheer size difference but the height as well. Not only does the Q series have much stronger motor force, but that added height adds to the mechanical limits of the driver. This means deeper, stronger bass. The Q series is on the left and can handle an EXTRA 300 watts of RMS power over the L7R. This setup is insane!
Here we have a 2019 Ram 2500 getting a 3" lift, and wheels that were taken off of the 2018 3500 we did a few weeks ago which we will link at the bottom of this post. We tapped Ready Lift for this install due to the quality of their lift kits. The kit is linked below as well. Lift Kit: https://www.readylift.com/ram-2500-hd-4wd-69-1930.html... Ram 3500 that previously had these wheels: https://www.facebook.com/premiumcustominstall/posts/253570343177032
So we're currently in the midst of another stereo rescue. We'll do a full post on all of the issues with the car, and our corrections. With this one I want to focus on the weakest link of an audio system and how it will effect the sound. Integration with a factory radio is a must these days. When this is done, it is imperative that no shortcuts are taken. Signal is everything. You don't necessarily need the best equipment, a budget build can sound great. However, when th...e signal is poorly transferred from the OE source to the aftermarket amps, even high end expensive gear will sound terrible. With this current rescue, we have multiple amplifiers being fed by one of the cheapest options for a Line Output Converter (LOC). Beyond that, the installation was completely wrong. This LOC was connected to a SINGLE rear speaker. This type of integration can work for a subwoofer install, but not when full range audio is desired. If you grab signal from ONE speaker, you only have that channel. You're now listening to only that one channel's sound, you no longer have left and right, the definition of STEREO. Needless to say, the car sounded AWFUL. A complete tear down and rebuild is in progress, so stay tuned!

This 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee needed a little help after recently swapping from OEM to an aftermarket radio. The customer brought it to us with no rear camera output. We were pretty certain that the reverse output was not hooked up during the install. When we pulled the headunit out, we also realized it needed a complete rewire. Besides the rats nest, when you tilted the radio to the side, power would cut out due to loose connections. We did a quick and cost effective rescue for this one, and got everything cleaned up and running for the customer. No more loose connections, and reverse trigger hooked up means the OEM camera now displays the image in reverse.
We LOVE when this happens! We work really hard to make sure our customers are satisfied with the work they receive from us. Here's what earned us this great feedback: https://www.facebook.com/premiumcustominstall/posts/263263562207710
