ProSwing Baseball & Softball 16.11.2020

The Lady Pride 16u team kicked off their fall season with a tournament win at the Newtown Rock Fall Invitational Tournament. The team went 4-1-1 for the weekend. Every player collected hits and RBIs. Julia Serena had 2 homers to go along with 5 RBIs, Athena Hadjipanayis followed with 4 RBIs and 2 doubles, Sophia Mangone, Shannon Blake, Zoe Sala, Julia Tucciarone and Maggie O'Hare each chipped in 2 RBIs. Samantha Sanchez played a solid 3rd base and came up with timely hits. Sa...brina Reichelt and Cassidy Fernandez were solid in center and left field, as well as coming up with timely hits in pressure situations. Frankie Reyes threw a runner out from right field trying to score to go along with her triple. The team battled all weekend, losing to the host team, The Rock National team, 2-0 on Saturday and came back to beat them 4-2 in an elimination game on Sunday. In the final on Sunday the girls played tough and never gave up, battling to the end. The game ended in a 3-3 tie and was called due to darkness in the top of the 9th inning. Both teams were named co-champions. Pitcher Shannon Blake gave up 8 earned runs in 4 games while striking out 9. Way to go ladies!!! See more
