Do you need to get a Passport? We are hosting a Passport Saturday on October 17th to help with that. We are doing things differently this year to keep everybody safe. This year the event will be by appointment only. Please follow the link below for more information. See you on the 17th!!

Please be advised that due to the storm and power outage, the Putnam County Clerk's Office will be closed today August 5, 2020. If you had an appointment for today kindly reschedule. Our Putnam County DMV will be opening at 10:30. If you have an appointment for 10:30 and after it will be honored. Sorry I didn't share this sooner. Effective TODAY!! the Putnam County Clerk’s Office will be open to the public for limited in-person transactions. Customers will be assisted by appointment only and should be prepared to wear a face covering upon entry to the County Office Building. We are also very excited to announce that effective June 15, 2020 we are planning to open the Putnam County DMV to the public for limited in-person transactions. This is welcome news Acting Secretary Chad Wolf Statement on the REAL ID Enforcement Deadline March 26, 2020 Due to circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the national emergency declaration, the Department of Homeland Security, as directed by President Donald J. Trump, is extending the REAL ID enforcement deadline beyond the current October 1, 2020 deadline. I have determined that states require a twelve-month delay and that the new deadline for REAL ID enforcement is October 1, 2021. DHS will publish a notice of the new deadline in the Federal Register in the coming days."

Putnam County Clerk Michael C. Bartolotti hosted a Naturalization Ceremony on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Putnam County Historic Courthouse, Carmel, New York. Clerk Bartolotti administered the Oath of Allegiance to 33 new citizens from 21 different countries.

Due to the recent events and concerns with COVID19 The Putnam County Clerk has decided to postpone the March 28th Passport Saturday and will re-schedule it for a later date. As of now, The Saturday, April 25, 2020 Passport day will still be held from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Putnam County Clerk’s office.

Putnam County Clerk Michael C. Bartolotti hosted a Naturalization Ceremony on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Putnam County Historic Courthouse, Carmel, New York. Clerk Bartolotti administered the Oath of Allegiance to 43 new citizens from 24 different countries.
