Tonight's training session was on the use of the Turbo Draft. The Turbo Draft is a piece of equipment that allows us to access a water supply that would normally be out of reach of our hard suction hose. We practiced with it at the Little Black Creek on Roberts Rd. and a pond on Dayton Rd. Plus the drill also gave our Juniors some nozzle practice time.

The annual NYS burn ban runs March 16th through May 14th. DEC is reminding the public that conditions for wildfires are heightened in springtime when most #wild...fires occur. Barneveld, Remsen, Stittville: 12/9/20 4:30pm FIRE STRUCTURE Route 12 in Barneveld in the area around Circle K (911 log down on the website, i couldn't solid numeric)

Today at 12:04pm Barneveld FD was notified by Oneida County 911 of a mutual aid request for a structure fire on Prospect St. in the Village of Remsen (Remsen Fi...re District). Upon the arrival of Remsen Car 4 (Cpt. Tyson) he reported smoke visible and confirmed a chimney fire at that location. Barneveld FD was assigned to assist with roof operations, and to check for any extension. The fire was contained to the chimney, resulting in no damage to the structure. Barneveld FD responded under the command of Chief Kevin Kalk with Engine 1, Engine 2, Rescue 1, Squad 1 and 16 members. While on scene of the fire Remsen FD was notified of a personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Bardwell Mills Road and Dayton Road in the Town of Remsen, Barneveld Engine 1 cleared the scene of the fire and responded to the MVA to assist Remsen.
